Background

Published in Brighton by John D. Stamford, starting in May 1969. Stamford also ran the Spartacus Book Service.

Initially named the International Males Advertiser. Only upon IMA’s sixth edition was the magazine rechristened as Spartacus, expanding from a slim marketing brochure into a more comprehensive publication with features, stories, and a contact ad section.
