George Mavety (died 19 August 2000 at age 63) was the owner of a New York-based publishing company known at various times as Modernismo, Mavety Media Group, or MMG Services.
Before getting into publishing, Mavety worked in distribution, including titles such as Colt and Dilettante. When Dilettante, edited by John Devere, folded in 1974 after 4 issues, Mavety offered to take over the magazine, which he relaunched in 1975 as Mandate.
